Trier, Germany's oldest city, was once a Roman city with an imperial residence. You will still find many Roman sights in this city. Shopping in Trier is also worthwhile.

The city of Luxembourg was founded in the year 936 and became one of the strongest settlements in Europe in the 16th century. In the 17th century, the Casemates were created and since 1994 they have been part of the UNSECO World Heritage Site. Shiny new modern buildings stand alongside historic buildings that bear witness to a rich history.
